Woman pleads guilty for role in Downtown Fargo assault
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A woman arrested as part of an assault in Downtown Fargo has now pleaded guilty. Angelica Hernandez, 24, pleaded guilty to being an accomplice to aggravated assault. Authorities say she was part of a group that assaulted three men in the 600 block of NP Avenue North.
Fargo precious metals dealer warns about gold for cash scam
(Fargo, ND) — A Fargo precious metals dealer is warning about a scam happening here in the metro which he says many people are falling for. “They’re giving you a sob story. They’re saying ‘hey man my car broke down. I’m out of gas, I lost my wallet, my wallet got stolen, and I’m just trying to get back to California. I just need a few hundred bucks for gas. I don’t have anything, but I have this gold ring and this gold chain’ and it’s so fake,” said Jack Seaman, owner of MinDak Gold and Silver.

FMWF Chamber announces $835,000 in funding opportunities for local businesses
FARGO, ND — The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce (FMWF Chamber) is offering funding opportunities for local businesses as part of the Good Jobs Challenge. The awards are broken apart into several categories with the intent of serving “diverse populations, regions and communities.” A total of $835,000 is available for applicants, with individual monetary awards ranging between $5,000 to $75,000.

Calls to Minnesota poison center triple as wild mushrooms thrive
MINNEAPOLIS — The warm, soggy summer across much of the Midwest has produced a bumper crop of wild mushrooms — and a surge in calls to poison control centers. At the Minnesota Regional Poison Center, calls from April through July more than tripled over the same period last year, said Samantha Lee, the center’s director. The center took 90 calls for potential exposures over that period, compared to 26 calls for the same months in 2023.
