Summer’s breezing right on by, and you know what that means: Fall is right around the corner. While there are probably still plenty of warm days ahead of you, it’s never too soon to start preparing for the season’s change.

That’s where Costco comes in. If you’re a member, you can grab a few things to cozy up your life and bring in the fall season while staying on budget .

Earning passive income doesn't need to be difficult. You can start this week.

    Pumpkins and Squash

“Costco’s selection of seasonal produce, especially pumpkins and squash, is unbeatable in the fall,” said Brendon McCullough, an avid Costco shopper and the managing director of Dealhack . “Not only are they fresh and high quality, but they also come at a fraction of the price you’d find at traditional grocery stores.”

McCullough added that squash and pumpkins are great for a variety of traditionally fall dishes — like squash soup and stew. But even if you don’t plan to eat them, they make for some great festive decorations.

    Electric Fireplaces and Heaters

The fall season can be pretty chilly, especially at night. If you want to stay warm while still being festive, McCullough suggested getting an electric fireplace or a standing heater from Costco, as they “are fantastic additions to any home.”

Perhaps even more importantly is that many of these items are energy-efficient, meaning you could save money on your heating bill. Plus, you can use some of them outside.

Take Kenmore’s electric heater , for example. It costs $169.99 and is designed for outside use. It features three power level settings, built-in safety features, and a portable tripod and wall mounts so you can set it up as you like. It also heats up rather quickly.

    Flannel Shirts

For Amanda Schmitt, a lifestyle and budgeting expert with Life as Mama , Costco is the go-to place for fall basics — including flannel shirts from the warehouse club’s very own Kirkland brand.

“The flannel shirts are high-quality, come in classic prints and are only $15,” she said. “My husband and daughters wear them constantly in the fall and winter. At that price, I can buy a few sizes up so we have room to grow.”

    Other Fall Apparel

Why wait to update your wardrobe until summer ends? Shopping for some fall apparel now could save you money, as prices are still generally low. And it could help you beat the crowds since many other people will wait until school starts up or the fall season gets underway.

McCullough said that he particularly goes for Costco’s Kirkland Signature line of clothes — like fleece jackets and sweaters. In his experience, these garments are generally cozy, high quality and affordable. They’re also stylish and durable, so you can go back to them year after year.

Take this Kirkland Signature fleece full-zip jacket as an example. It’s available in many sizes and three colors, and it costs just $21.99. Depending on your store, you can also find jackets for anyone else in your household.

    Fall Decor

For McCullough, another top buy this fall is Costco’s fall decorations.

“Whether plush blankets, decorative candles or seasonal decor, you can find high-quality items at competitive prices,” he said.

Here are just a few options from the warehouse club’s online catalog.

    • Reversible faux fur blanket for $44.99
    • Luxury mercury candles for $24.97 (three-pack)
    • LED glass raindrops for $32.99 (three-pack)
    • Day of the Dead clock with lights for $59.99
    • Disney Halloween Mickey and Minnie pumpkin greeter for $99.99

Schmitt added that she also gets some fall decor at Costco.

“For fall decor, I grab their giant bags of cinnamon brooms, pine cones and mini pumpkins. At $10 or less per bag, I can make a big seasonal statement in and around my home without spending a fortune,” she said. “The smells of cinnamon and pine instantly get me in an autumn mood.”

    Weighted Blankets

When it comes to fall, can you ever really have too many blankets? Schmitt said that these are an essential Costco buy for her household.

“Weighted blankets are always expensive, but Costco’s Tranquility brand is a steal at $50,” said Schmitt. “The 15-pound blanket helps my whole family sleep soundly through the night. It’s like being hugged to sleep.”

    Maple Syrup

If you love all things maple, you’re going to love Costco’s organic maple syrup. A 33.8-ounce container of it costs $14.99 and will last for a long time — even if you use it daily.

“As the weather cools, nothing beats a cozy breakfast with pancakes or waffles drizzled in organic maple syrup,” McCullough said.
