5 Things That Will Skyrocket in Price This Fall

Even as inflation goes down, some items continue to cost more – and that’s likely to continue as we head into the fall. It’s not just your food budget that’s being hit; there are significant price increases on other items you use.
In fact, for families already dealing with increased costs because of back-to-school shopping, their budgets could be stretched even more as rising prices hit them beyond just the school essentials.
Why should you expect to continue paying more for certain things? According to Business Insider , “Weather events and changing markets have contributed to higher prices .”
Let’s start with food – since it’s a big portion of most weekly budgets and grocery prices have been on the rise.
If you love orange juice, you know it’s been expensive to drink lately. In fact, according to Business Insider, “The cost of frozen noncarbonate juices and drinks has risen 20.2% over the past year.” Further, crop diseases and weather events have hurt orange production – so you’re seeing the impacts through higher prices. That’s likely to continue into the fall.
Here’s another food item you can expect to rise in price this fall – meat. That’s right; even as meat prices have generally been on the rise this year, higher feed costs and supply chain issues may cause prices to skyrocket again this fall. Just a heads up – those increased prices may be seen across the board and affect beef, chicken and pork.
Car Insurance
If you drive a vehicle, you’ve probably experienced quite a hike in insurance costs. In fact, it may be so high where you live that it’s become a topic of discussion at the dinner table or with friends.
What’s been leading to these much higher costs? According to CNBC , you can blame at least part of it on historically high prices for vehicles after the pandemic and growing costs to repair automobiles.
Entertainment
It might cost more to eat this fall – and it might cost more to be entertained.
You may already have seen that some streaming companies are planning price hikes. In addition, tickets to sporting and other events may see big increases as we head into fall.
Further, you may pay much more if you want to have a favorite movie on DVD. With some stores cutting back on sales of DVDs, the scarcity could mean higher prices. As with most things on our list, you can still find great deals if you’re willing to look around.
Cameras
Why buy a fancy camera when you have a phone? That kind of thinking may be leading to much higher prices for photographic equipment and supplies. The cost of those has risen by more than 10% over the past year, according to Business Insider.
Since people have phones to do basic photography, they’re looking for higher-end models when they really want to take great pictures. That means higher-cost cameras and fewer less-expensive options if you’re in the market for photographic equipment.
