Peoria police searching for suspects in McDonald’s heist
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria police are looking for a person held up a fast-food restaurant in north Peoria late Monday. According to Semone Roth, a department spokeswoman, the heist occurred at a McDonald’s located in the 7000 block of North University Street, which is less than a block from the intersection with Pioneer Parkway.
Three men arrested after reports of shots fired Tuesday in Macomb
MACOMB, Ill. — Three men were arrested Tuesday after officers with the Macomb Police Department responded to the area of Albert and Piper for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, and determined no one was injured and the suspects had fled the scene. Officers began collecting evidence and searched the neighborhood for the suspects’ vehicle. MPD officers eventually found the vehicle and developed information that the suspects were in a Macomb residence and likely still armed.

Carley Cotner wants to talk about death — and she wants Bloomington-Normal to join her. She said she took training to become a Death or End-of-Life Doula, so she can host death cafes in town for people who feel the same way.
With Interstate 55 Closure, Intermodals Have To Logistically Navigate Reroutes
Interstate 55 is going to be closed for quite some time, and for some entities, that doesn’t mean they can just relax. Trucks keep the world moving. CenterPoint, the closest intermodal to the I-55 and Arsenal Road interchange, is having to shift their focus from using I-55, to navigating over to I-80 as a bypass. Spokesman Mike Noonan said “we’re not aware of any operations impact at Joliet/Elwood due to the storm. The Houbolt Road Extension is operating normally and likely seeing an uptick in volume.”
Good News For Students Of Lockport Township High School Central Campus
Superintendent of Lockport Township High School District 205 Bob McBride shared a video on the progress being made at the Central Campus following a ceiling collapse at the school last November. The good news is that Lockport High School Central campus will welcome students back to the school on Monday, August 19th. Following the roof collapse an inspection of all 379 rooms were either repaired or deemed safe.
