Sink holes cause problems in Wichita area
Crews were dealing with damage caused by two sink holes on Wednesday, one in Wichita and the other in Bel Aire. A sink hole appeared in the 3200 block of East Douglas, just east of Hillside, in the westbound lanes, and city crews were working to make repairs. Both westbound lanes have been closed to traffic.

The University of Kansas Health System announced on Wednesday, July 3, that it has already worked a handful of fireworks-related injury cases across its Kansas City, Olathe, Liberty, Miami county campuses and the Burnett Burn Center.
Lawrence woman set to serve time for boyfriend’s fentanyl-related death
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Lawrence woman is set to spend time in prison after she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the fentanyl-related death of her boyfriend. Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez announced on Wednesday, July 3, that Chloe L. Colby, 23, of Lawrence, pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter and conspiracy to commit unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. The move follows the death of a 21-year-old Lawrence man.

The cost of renovating Spin City with all of the possible additions to the project would total just under $2 million. The base fee for the project would total $1.5 million with engineering fees another $165,000. Other additions could range from landscaping to parking lot and drainage upgrades. Code compliance issues would need to be addressed.
