Illinois unemployment rate hits 5% The Illinois Department of Employment Security announced that unemployment increased to 5 percent. The May revised unemployment rate was 4.9 percent. The national unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in June, up slightly from the previous month. Kentucky Man Facing Multiple Charges for Incidents Thursday in Carmi
CARMI – A Greenville, KY man is facing multiple charges following an incident at Bradshaw Park and at the White County Jail in Carmi Thursday morning. Carmi Police say 61-year-old Troy Lynn Mercer was charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearms/Firearm Ammunition, Aggravated Battery of a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to the White County Jail. No bail was set.
