Two large-scale vegetation fires erupt simultaneously within miles in one California city

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (Con Fire) is actively battling two significant vegetation fires that erupted in Antioch today.

The first fire was reported in the area of Marina Plaza. Initially covering about half an acre, it quickly expanded to approximately five acres. This blaze involves both grass and tule, creating challenging conditions for firefighters. Additional resources have been requested to combat the growing fire.

Simultaneously, a second fire broke out off Slaton Ranch Road. Con Fire crews are on the scene working to contain the 10-acre blaze.
