The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced the final weekend closure of southbound Interstate 680 (I-680) between Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and the I-580/I-680 connector in Pleasanton. This closure, scheduled to commence on Friday, May 31, at 9 p.m., will last until Monday, June 3, at 4 a.m.

During this period, three left lanes of southbound I-680 will be closed to facilitate essential improvements. However, two right lanes will remain open to minimize disruptions to traffic flow. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and are encouraged to explore alternative routes to alleviate congestion.

To mitigate the impact on commuters, Caltrans recommends utilizing alternative routes such as Interstate 80 to southbound Interstate 880. This strategic detour aims to streamline travel and reduce delays for motorists navigating through the affected area.

For additional information and updates regarding the closure and ongoing improvements, individuals are encouraged to visit the project website at 680paving.com or contact the project hotline at (510) 286-0319.

yep. The road surface is very uneven & broken in both directions. especially AFTER they "fixed it". I drive this stretch of road everyday. I have several rock chips and cracks in my windshield from all the broken pavement getting kicked up from other cars .. The real construction they are doing is them building out the TOLL LANE known as fastrack. So they can squeeze more money out of us.. They sure don't put that money back into the roads.
