A large wind-driven grass fire spurred an evacuation warning in Kern County on Saturday, as firefighters battled to contain the blaze that broke out near 80th Street West and Holiday Avenue in Rosamond around 2:30 p.m.

The fire, characterized by fierce winds, prompted swift action from firefighting crews who rushed to the scene to combat the rapidly spreading flames.

According to investigators, the blaze exhibited multiple starting points and underwent several changes in direction, complicating efforts to contain it.

Amid the chaotic situation, one structure fell victim to the inferno, although fortunately, it was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The blaze consumed just over 400 acres of land before firefighters managed to gain control over its spread.
