California Lottery players across the state have been cashing in on their good fortune this May, with eight lucky individuals scoring big prizes of all sizes. From Southern California to the Bay Area, winners are celebrating their newfound wealth, thanks to the California Lottery.

One such winner is Joshua Flores, who turned a routine diaper run into a thousand-dollar payday. Shopping at a Walmart Supercenter in El Cajon, Flores decided to try his luck with a Mystery Crossword Scratchers® game. "I have two babies, so there are two sizes of diapers I had to get. I thought I’d just put this ten bucks in," Flores shared with the California Lottery. His $10 investment turned into a $1,000 win, confirmed through the California Lottery app on his phone. "I was so stoked that I called my girlfriend and told her. It was pretty cool. I went back in there and grabbed more diapers," Flores exclaimed.

Taking advantage of the California Lottery's Fast Pay program, Flores was able to collect his $1,000 check right on the spot at the California Lottery San Diego office. "I was hoping I would get the approval to get the check that day, and they got everything done," Flores added enthusiastically.

But Flores wasn't the only winner this month. Grace Chu struck it rich with a whopping $10,000,000 win playing California 200X, purchased at the 7-Eleven in Newark. In the Bay Area, Daniel Fissaha pocketed $5,000,000 with a 100X Scratchers ticket from Tip Top Liquors in San Jose. Deloria Cooper hit the jackpot with a Lucky 7’s Scratchers ticket, bagging $5,000,000 from the 7-Eleven on Via Las Rosas in Oceanside. Meanwhile, Lucy Sansosti's 2024 Scratchers ticket from the ARCO in Newport Beach turned into a cool $5,000,000 win.

Further south, Arturo Saludes struck gold with a $2,000,000 win from an Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers ticket purchased at the A-1 Valley Market Deli in Lake Elsinore. Christopher Powers joined the ranks of millionaires with a $1,000,000 win from an Xtreme Multiplier Scratchers ticket bought at EZ Foodmart in Bakersfield.
