Budget-friendly Grocery Outlet to open new supermarket in wealthy California coastal enclave

Pacific Beach is getting a new Grocery Outlet, with a lease agreement recently finalized for a $3.7 million deal.

The new store will occupy the 12,365-square-foot space at 1211 Garnet Avenue, previously home to Crunch Fitness, which closed permanently in January 2023.

Real estate firm Intersection facilitated the lease negotiations.

Alec Spencer, a senior associate at Intersection, expressed satisfaction with the deal, noting that Grocery Outlet’s presence will benefit both the property and the Pacific Beach community, according to a press release.
