The National Weather Service in Reno has forecasted a continuation of dry and warm conditions for the week, with above-average temperatures and typical afternoon breezes. Highs are expected to reach the upper 90s to near 100 degrees in lower valleys, and mid to upper 80s in Sierra communities. The weather pattern, dominated by high pressure, will keep precipitation chances low, under 10%, for the Sierra and western Nevada.

Localized fire weather concerns are anticipated each afternoon due to dry conditions and afternoon winds, with gusts potentially reaching 30 mph. Smoke and haze from active wildfires, such as the Park Fire in northern California and the Middle Fire near Yosemite, may affect air quality in parts of northeastern California and northwestern Nevada.

A slight cooling trend with more breezy conditions is expected later in the week, as a trough moves through the Pacific Northwest, potentially enhancing fire weather concerns from Thursday to Sunday.
