Caltrans urges travelers to arrive 40 minutes early to Sacramento Airport because of freeway project

Caltrans District 3 has announced significant paving repairs in the Natomas area of Sacramento from Friday, August 9, to Monday, August 12. I-5 North, near the I-80 interchange, and I-5 South, near Garden Highway, will each be reduced to two lanes from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

There may be additional lane reductions, possibly down to a single lane, during the early morning hours.

Motorists should plan for possible delays and consider alternative routes.

"Motorists with flights departing from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and airport employees are advised to arrive 40 minutes early to ensure they are on time for their flights and work shift," Caltrans urged.
