Scenic Nevada Beach Resort to Host Prestigious 2024 Lake Tahoe Summit

The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit has announced that Round Hill Pines Beach Resort will host the 2024 Lake Tahoe Summit, in collaboration with Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. The summit, scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, 2024, will limit access to registered attendees until its conclusion, which may be as early as 12:30 p.m.

To ensure public safety, a Forest Service closure order will be in effect on August 14. The beach will be closed from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., and most of the resort, including general forest areas, will be closed from midnight to 2 p.m. Registered summit attendees will have beach access after 9 a.m. and can use the bike path, road, and parking areas, while general public access will be restricted.

This year’s summit theme, “Connecting Tahoe: Investing in Transit, Trails, and Technology for the Future,” highlights collaborative efforts to protect Lake Tahoe. Erick Walker, Forest Supervisor, expressed enthusiasm for showcasing the ongoing conservation work across two states and with various partners.
