The National Weather Service Hanford predicts that temperatures will peak this week on Tuesday afternoon, with a 50 to 80 percent chance of reaching or exceeding 105 degrees.

Overnight temperatures are expected to remain high, particularly in the Sierra Foothills and West Side Hills, where recovery from the daytime heat will be minimal, National Weather Service forecasters stated.

Forecasts indicate a strong likelihood of minimum temperatures staying at or above 75 degrees Wednesday morning, offering little respite from the intense heat, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents are urged to find ways to keep cool and avoid being outdoors during the hottest parts of the day.
