In response to a surge in e-bike-related traffic collisions, the Murrieta City Council has enacted a new ordinance focused on electronic conveyance devices, which include e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-skateboards.

This ordinance aims to prevent further serious injuries by defining e-bikes, setting classifications, and outlining traffic laws and enforcement measures, the police department stated.

The ordinance also addresses the responsibilities of parents and riders, along with rules for parking and equipment standards, according to the police department. Over the next few weeks, the Murrieta Police Department will educate the community on various aspects of these new regulations to ensure public safety and compliance.
