A slight cooling trend is expected today and Thursday as increasing onshore flow brings cooler air to the coast and valleys, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). While coastal and valley areas will see temperatures dip a few degrees, the far interior regions will remain hot, with highs around 105 degrees.

This morning, some stratus and fog are spreading northwest along the coast, potentially causing periods of dense fog near the beaches. Additionally, debris clouds from dissipated storms in southeast California are moving into Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Overall, a quieter weather day is anticipated, with onshore flow strengthening and temperatures starting slower than usual. Some foothill areas are up to 15 degrees cooler compared to yesterday morning, while other non-desert locations are 2-5 degrees cooler.
