San Diego County experienced thunderstorms today, with activity concentrated in the mountains, deserts, and far inland valleys. The storms, which began before midday, are expected to gradually dissipate by this evening. Some storms may bring flash flooding and strong, gusty winds to the area.

Looking ahead, a slight chance of thunderstorms remains for southeastern San Diego County on Monday afternoon. Coastal areas will see an increase in low clouds and fog starting Monday night, with this pattern continuing through the week.

Temperatures in the mountains and deserts have cooled slightly compared to yesterday, while valleys remained warm and muggy. As a low-pressure trough builds off the Pacific Northwest, it will sweep away the remaining monsoonal moisture, leading to more stable and seasonal weather. Winds through mountain gaps into the deserts could reach over 40 mph during afternoons and evenings.

Overall, San Diego County can expect dry, seasonal conditions with little day-to-day variation for the rest of the week, though there is a slight possibility of increased monsoonal moisture next weekend.
