Acclaimed California chef who picked up latest Michelin star to cater meals on airline's key route

Alaska Airlines is redefining its First Class dining experience with a new partnership featuring acclaimed chef Brandon Jew, owner of San Francisco's Michelin-starred Mister Jiu's. Starting August 28, passengers flying between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will enjoy a specially curated menu by Chef Jew.

The exclusive menu includes signature dishes like congee with soy-cured eggs and braised pork belly, Liberty Farms braised duck with sesame egg noodles, and black cod with silken tofu. This collaboration showcases Chef Jew’s unique blend of local San Francisco Bay Area ingredients with classic Chinese flavors.

Alaska Airlines’ partnership with Chef Jew underscores its commitment to offering a premium inflight experience. The collaboration is part of a year-long initiative, with seasonal menu rotations expected. Additionally, Alaska Airlines will donate $5,000 to Gum Moon Women’s Residence, supporting women and children in transition.

“We’re excited to bring the flavors of Mister Jiu’s to the skies,” said Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska Airlines’ managing director of guest products. “Chef Jew’s commitment to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with our values.”

The new menu is available for preorder starting August 14 and promises to bring a taste of San Francisco’s vibrant food scene to Alaska Airlines’ First Class passengers.
