National Flooring Store Files fo Bankruptcy, Announces Closure of 94 Stores Nationwide including CA

LL Flooring, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will close 94 of its more than 300 stores across the United States. The decision comes as part of the company’s strategy to navigate financial challenges in a tough economic climate.

"After comprehensive efforts to enhance our liquidity position in a challenging macro environment, a determination was made that initiating this Chapter 11 process is the best path forward for the Company," said Charles Tyson, President and CEO of LL Flooring. "Today’s step is intended to provide LL Flooring with additional time and financial flexibility as we reduce our physical footprint and close certain stores while pursuing a going-concern sale of the rest of our business."

The closures will impact 31 states, including major markets in California, Florida, New York, and Texas. The company did not specify a timeline for the closures.
