The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory from 3 PM PDT today to 5 AM PDT Wednesday for the Mojave Slopes and Indian Wells Valley due to expected gusts up to 50 mph. Elevated winds are also forecasted for eastern Kern County, raising the risk of grass fires despite decreasing humidity levels.

Temperatures across the San Joaquin Valley and Coastal Range are expected to remain in the mid to upper 90s today, with a slight probability of exceeding 95°F. In the Kern County Desert, highs will range between 101 and 104°F, with a lower chance of surpassing 105°F.

For the rest of the week, temperatures are projected to stay near normal. A trough of low pressure will maintain these conditions, with a potential for slightly above-normal temperatures as a ridge in the Midwest influences the region from Sunday. By Thursday, August 22, forecasts suggest either continued near-normal temperatures or a trend towards slightly above average, with high temperatures expected to stay below 104°F for the Valley.
