    Caltrans District 2 has announced the start of the Back Forty Chip Project on U.S. 395 in Lassen County, beginning Monday, August 19. The project will cover the stretch from 0.5 miles east of Mapes Lane to Karlo Road.

    Initial construction activities, including dig out work, are scheduled from August 19 to August 23, taking place nightly between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Chip seal operations are set to commence on August 26 and continue through the end of September.

    During construction, motorists should prepare for one-way traffic control with potential delays of up to 14 minutes. Traffic control will be in effect Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some operations extending into Saturdays.
