The Farmers' Almanac has issued an early warning for winter 2024/25, forecasting a "wet whirlwind" season filled with heavy precipitation and storms. Depending on your location, you could be in for significant snowfall or relentless rain.

The Northern Plains and Great Lakes are expected to experience a deep chill throughout the winter, with extreme cold snaps hitting in late January and early February. The Northeast is forecasted to be a prime target for above-normal snowfall, particularly in interior and mountainous areas. Meanwhile, the Pacific Northwest, Great Lakes, and Southeast can anticipate a wet and slushy season.

Conversely, the Southwest and South Central States may see a drier winter with below-normal precipitation. However, the Farmers' Almanac advises keeping an eye on the final week of January for potential storms across the eastern U.S. and early February for possible snowstorms in Texas and Idaho's Bitterroot Mountains.
