Northrop Grumman, a major U.S. defense contractor, plans to lay off 550 full-time employees at its space business facilities in Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach, California. The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice (WARN) on August 12, as required by California law, to notify employees and state agencies of the impending job cuts.

This move is part of a broader trend of workforce reductions in the sector, following an earlier layoff that saw 600 employees redeployed within the company. Northrop Grumman has indicated that further adjustments may be forthcoming as the company continues to realign its workforce, according to reports.
