The upper-level trough that recently brought rain and thunderstorms to Northwest California has shifted north, leaving behind cooler temperatures and coastal fog. Today’s weather will see temperatures slightly warmer than yesterday, though still below seasonal averages for the interior.

Lingering moisture will result in coastal clouds and valley fog, with light coastal drizzle possible. Some of the coldest valleys, like Hayfork and Larabee Valley, may experience frost, but valley fog could prevent temperatures from dropping below the low 40s.

Looking ahead, a persistent upper-level trough will keep conditions relatively dry and warm through early next week. However, a low-pressure system is forecast to approach the coast later in the week, potentially impacting the region. Models are still uncertain about the exact effects, and further updates will be provided as more details become available.
