On July 31, a Reddit user sparked a viral discussion among Costco fans and baking enthusiasts by revealing that Kirkland Signature chocolate chips had been replaced with Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Morsels at their local Costco store.

The post, shared by u/SomeRealTomfoolery in the r/Costco subreddit, showed a rack of Nestlé chocolate chips in 72-ounce bags, leading to over 500 reactions and 160 comments, according to the Reddit post online.

At the time of the post, Kirkland’s chocolate chips appeared to be missing from Costco's website, though they were still listed on the Costco Business Center site, according to the website.
