Alaska Airlines announced today a strategic investment in JetZero, a cutting-edge company developing a new blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft that promises to reduce fuel burn by up to 50% and significantly lower emissions. This investment underscores Alaska's commitment to advancing aviation technology that aligns with its goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040.

The investment, made through Alaska Star Ventures (ASV), includes options for future aircraft orders and positions Alaska Airlines as the first airline to back JetZero’s innovative aircraft. The BWB aircraft, with its integrated wing and fuselage design, reduces aerodynamic drag and offers potential for lower carbon emissions and operating costs. Additionally, the aircraft's spacious interior is expected to enhance passenger comfort, providing a quieter and more enjoyable flying experience.
