The National Weather Service Eureka forecasts cool temperatures and measurable precipitation through Saturday due to an unseasonably cold upper low. Scattered showers are already affecting Humboldt and Del Norte counties, with gusty winds expected to reach 20-35 mph by early afternoon, potentially exceeding 40 mph in some areas.

Rainfall is anticipated to range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, with possible isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Coastal and elevated areas could see up to 2 inches of rain.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-60s today, with possible lows in the upper 30s to low 40s Saturday morning. Conditions will warm significantly late this weekend, with highs potentially nearing 100 degrees next week.
