The National Weather Service Las Vegas reports cooler temperatures and gusty southwest winds today and Saturday as a strong low-pressure system moves through the western states. Las Vegas is experiencing temperatures in the upper 70s, a first since June 20. Light radar returns in Mohave County are expected to produce minimal precipitation.

This weekend, temperatures will be 5-15 degrees below normal, with critical fire danger in southern Nevada and hazardous conditions on Lakes Mead and Mohave. By Sunday, light winds will return, and temperatures are forecast to rebound to above normal levels early next week as high pressure rebuilds over the Desert Southwest.
