California Highway Patrol helicopter helps cops stop wild sideshow in middle of quiet neighborhood

On August 18, 2024, CHP Air-21 provided aerial support to the Sacramento Police Department during a sideshow event in Sacramento.

Upon arrival, the chopper crew observed a large crowd and numerous vehicles engaged in reckless driving.

A high-speed pursuit ensued after one participant fled from law enforcement agencies, including Sacramento PD, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, and CHP.

The suspect's vehicle, which traveled at excessive speeds through both residential areas and freeways, eventually stopped at a gas station. The driver was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.

Sideshows, known for their dangerous and illegal driving stunts, pose significant risks to both participants and bystanders. They disrupt public safety and can lead to accidents and violent confrontations.
