The Seattle area is experiencing unusually cool and wet weather due to an upper-level low-pressure system moving slowly through the Pacific Northwest. Rain and showers are expected to continue overnight, with patchy fog developing in some areas. A slight chance of thunderstorms exists, particularly over the Cascades, as the low moves eastward.

Saturday will see continued rain, particularly in the central and northern regions, with temperatures staying below normal in the lower to mid-60s. Conditions will start to dry out by Saturday night as an upper-level ridge begins to build, leading to more seasonal weather on Sunday with partial sunshine and highs in the mid-60s to lower 70s. Another round of unsettled weather is expected early next week, but drier and warmer conditions are forecast for the latter half of the week.
