San Diego and surrounding areas are experiencing cooler conditions this weekend, with dry weather and gusty winds forecasted. The National Weather Service reports that winds are currently gusting between 20 and 25 mph, with stronger gusts of 40 to 45 mph observed in the Cajon and San Gorgonio Passes. Later this afternoon, winds could increase further, with gusts up to 50 mph possible in desert slopes and areas below the passes, potentially causing blowing dust and low visibility in the northern Coachella Valley.

A gradual warming trend is expected from Sunday through Tuesday as weak ridging takes place over California. Despite the warming, temperatures on Tuesday are forecasted to remain slightly below normal. The marine layer will become shallower, keeping patchy low clouds closer to the coast.

Looking ahead to the latter half of next week, monsoonal moisture may return, but the chance of thunderstorms remains low, with probabilities below 15%. Minor temperature fluctuations are expected as the region will be influenced by a weak trough off the coast and an upper ridge to the east.
