Portland and surrounding areas can expect a mix of clouds and sunshine this weekend, with pleasant weather set to start the last week of August. A recent weather system that brought rain is moving eastward, leaving behind cooler temperatures and some patchy fog overnight into Sunday morning. Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny, with inland temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s and coastal areas in the upper 60s.

Monday will remain sunny and near seasonal, but a new weather system is expected to arrive late Monday night, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance of light showers, primarily in northern areas. Temperatures will likely only reach the lower 70s on Tuesday.

As the week progresses, a high-pressure system will build over the region, bringing warmer temperatures by Thursday, with highs potentially reaching the 80s or even low 90s inland, and lower 70s along the coast. Offshore winds may contribute to lower humidity, especially by Friday, making for a warm end to the week.
