A moisture surge is bringing a chance of widely scattered showers and thunderstorms to south-central Arizona later today and into Wednesday, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Phoenix, Ariz. office. This increase in moisture, driven by a shift in atmospheric flow, is expected to bring some storm activity, especially in southeastern and eastern parts of the state.

After Wednesday, conditions are expected to dry out, with only isolated showers possible in the higher terrain through the weekend. Temperatures will remain above normal, ranging between 103-110°F in lower desert areas. Despite the rain chances, no excessive heat is anticipated over the next week.
