U.S. Gas Prices Dip Ahead of Labor Day, But Storm Threat Looms

As Labor Day weekend approaches, gas prices continue to fall, though at a slower pace than in recent weeks. The national average price for a gallon of gas dipped just two cents to $3.36, reflecting a slight uptick in demand as summer travelers embark on their final trips. However, a developing storm system in the Atlantic could threaten this trend, potentially leading to higher prices.

Andrew Gross, a spokesperson for AAA, expressed a personal hope that the storm will dissipate quickly, particularly since today, August 29, marks his birthday. He also noted that the arrival of September brings the introduction of cheaper winter-blend gasoline, which typically eases pressure on pump prices.
