Zelda’s, the beloved pizzeria known for its Chicago-style deep dish, closed its doors for good on Saturday night. The restaurant, a fixture in Midtown Sacramento for over 45 years, made the announcement on its Facebook page, expressing gratitude for the community’s support throughout its long history.

“After decades of serving Sacramento, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors,” the post read. “Tonight, August 31st, is your last chance to grab a Chicago-style pizza. We are incredibly proud of Zelda’s legacy and the impact it had.”

The restaurant had transitioned to to-go orders only earlier this month in an attempt to remain open. Zelda’s, located at 1415 21st Street, was open for one final service from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
