As part of the ongoing US Highway 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement project, known as "Fix50," Caltrans has scheduled a 55-hour closure of two key ramps in Sacramento. The westbound Hornet Drive on-ramp and the westbound 65th Street off-ramp will be closed from Friday, September 6 at 9 p.m. to Monday, September 9 at 5 a.m.

The closures are necessary to allow construction crews to complete paving work in the area, minimizing the need for additional disruptions to motorists in the future. Caltrans assures the public that these activities are not expected to generate excessive dust or noise on nearby streets.

    Alternative Routes:

    • For Hornet Drive: Motorists can use Howe Avenue as an alternative.
    • For 65th Street: Suggested detours include Stockton Boulevard or Howe Avenue.

This work is part of a larger $483.5 million pavement rehabilitation project that aims to enhance 14 miles of highway by adding high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes from the US 50/Interstate 5 connector to the US 50/Watt Avenue connector.

They have been working on it, increasing the danger. They need to have around the clock workers to finish it.

HURRY THE F*** UP AND FIX 50 ALREADY! In any other first world country in the world it does not take 15 years to fix a 10 mile stretch of freeway.....
