Eureka, CA – Northern California is experiencing a mix of stratus and fog along the coast, while inland areas continue to bask in warm and dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Eureka. This pattern is expected to persist into the early part of the week.

Along the coast, overnight and early morning fog blankets the area, with brief afternoon clearing expected. Meanwhile, inland temperatures will remain in the high 80s and 90s, providing a contrast to the cooler coastal weather.

A significant pattern change is on the horizon, with a trough expected to move through the Pacific Northwest by Wednesday. This could bring a shift in weather conditions, including the potential for gusty winds and light rain. The NWS indicates a 65-70% chance of wetting rain in Del Norte County, 40-50% in Humboldt and Trinity Counties, and 10-20% in Mendocino and Lake Counties.

Additionally, the probability of peak wind gusts exceeding 30 mph is 70-80% in Lake County, southern Mendocino County, and eastern Trinity County. The exact details of these changes will become clearer in the coming days.
