LAS VEGAS – Thunderstorm chances will be high today across Southern Nevada and parts of California, particularly east of a line from Barstow to the Nevada National Security Site. The storms are expected to bring strong winds and the potential for isolated heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding.

This morning's weather data indicates increased moisture, fueling the storms and raising the risk of heavy rain and gusty outflow winds. Thunderstorms are anticipated to develop on higher terrain and weaken as they move to lower areas, potentially causing lightning hazards.

Looking ahead, drier air will start to push in on Monday, reducing thunderstorm chances to Lincoln County, Mohave County, and the mountains of Clark County. By Tuesday, the region is expected to experience dry conditions with breezy to windy weather continuing through Thursday. Additionally, temperatures are forecasted to cool down significantly starting mid-week, as a trough moves through the area, bringing relief from the recent heat.
