Motorists traveling between Kings Beach and Tahoe City along State Route 28 (SR-28) should expect significant delays next week due to ongoing broadband installation work. The project, led by Teichert Construction as part of a statewide effort to improve high-speed internet access in rural areas, will involve utility work with one-way traffic control at various locations from September 8 to September 13, according to Caltrans.

Drivers could face up to one-hour delays, particularly during peak travel times. All work will be paused on weekends and holidays. Motorists are advised to plan for extra travel time, according to the California Department of Transportation.
