CenterPoint Energy is gearing up for the possibility of severe weather from Invest 91L, a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico that could affect the Texas coast in the coming days. The National Hurricane Center is expected to provide more details on the system’s path and intensity tomorrow.

In anticipation, CenterPoint is securing work sites, mobilizing crews and equipment, and bringing in additional resources from mutual assistance companies. The company advises customers to prepare by assembling emergency kits with essentials like nonperishable food, water, flashlights, batteries, first aid supplies, medications, a battery-powered radio, and a portable charger.

Darin Carroll, Senior Vice President of Electric Business, assured customers of the company's readiness. "We have a plan to address this potential storm, and we are executing it," he said. Carroll emphasized the importance of preparation, especially following feedback from Hurricane Beryl, and expressed a commitment to improving response efforts based on past experiences.
