Las Vegas is in for a shift in weather patterns this week, with drier air and gusty winds pushing through the region. Today marks a significant milestone, as temperatures are expected to hit 100°F for the 100th time this year, tying the record for the most triple-digit days in a calendar year. However, cooling relief is on the way as temperatures begin to drop starting Wednesday.

Alongside the heat, fire risks will heighten, particularly in Lincoln, Clark, and Mohave counties, where a Red Flag Warning has been issued due to the combination of dry conditions and strong winds. Winds are expected to intensify, potentially leading to a Wind Advisory for the Barstow area and gusty conditions in the Owens Valley.

By Thursday, temperatures will be about ten degrees cooler, with the potential for thunderstorms and further cooling early next week. However, fire risks will remain a concern as the dry air lingers, and residents are urged to stay alert.
