A lucky ticket holder in Texas has just won the estimated $800 million Mega Millions jackpot, marking one of the largest lottery wins in U.S. history. According to the Mega Millions website, only one ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing, securing the massive prize. The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy’s Express gas station on Highway 90A in Sugar Land, Texas.

The jackpot, the seventh largest in Mega Millions history and the 17th largest lottery jackpot ever won in the United States, had been growing for weeks before the winning numbers were drawn. The winner now faces a decision between taking the full estimated jackpot of $800 million over 30 annual payments or opting for a one-time cash payout of approximately $404.2 million. The final amount of the jackpot will be determined based on actual sales.

Following this historic win, the Mega Millions jackpot will reset to $20 million for the next drawing, scheduled for Friday night.
