The California attorney general's office has dismissed the case filed by Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price against prosecutor Butch Ford, citing insufficient evidence, The Berkeley Scanner reported. Deputy Attorney General Caitlin Duprey announced the decision during a brief hearing Wednesday, just moments after taking on the case.

The case, which accused Ford of prosecutorial misconduct, was filed by DA Price last year. Ford consistently maintained that the misdemeanor charge was baseless and politically motivated.

Earlier this year, Alameda County Superior Court Judge James Cramer removed the DA's office from the case, stating that Price's public comments about the matter were "outside the realm of what is normal in a criminal proceeding," the Scanner reported.

Price, who has been criticized for incompetence and being soft on crime, is facing a recall vote in November.

DA Price is unprofessional and heartless to victims and their families. Please recall her, it has nothing to do with racist people but everything to do with her inability to protect law abiding citizens from criminals. It is totally unacceptable.
