Solano County residents should prepare for a major change in their commutes as Caltrans announced the closure of the State Route 220 (SR-220) J-Mack Ferry starting Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. The ferry will remain closed for 2-3 months to undergo necessary repairs and Coast Guard inspections.

Concrete barriers will be placed around the ferry slips on the same day, and the ferry will stay docked until it is transported for repairs. During the closure, commuters can use the Real McCoy Ferry (SR-84) or the SR-84 Miners Slough Bridge to access Ryer Island.

For updates, residents can call the Caltrans Ferry Update Line at (510) 622-0120 or visit the Caltrans Delta Ferries website. For real-time traffic information, check Caltrans Quickmap or call 1-800-427-ROAD.
