Mary’s Pizza Shack, a beloved North Bay institution with a 65-year legacy, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, a move that could lead to the liquidation of its assets. Despite the filing, the company announced that its 10 locations will remain open. The Sonoma-based chain, founded by Mary Fazio, will now be taken over by Fazio's granddaughters, according to a company statement.

The bankruptcy filing, made in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, lists between 1,000 and 5,000 creditors and estimated assets ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. Neither the company nor the attorney handling the case were available for comment. The news was first reported by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
