The Las Vegas area is experiencing a challenging weather situation as a low-pressure system moves in, bringing dry, windy conditions and a mix of warnings. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and a Red Flag Warning, both in effect due to the gusty winds and heightened fire risk.

Winds, blowing from the south to southwest, are expected to be strong through the night, with gusts impacting parts of Nevada and Arizona. The Red Flag Warning is set to last until 11 PM PDT Wednesday, while the Wind Advisory for western San Bernardino County will continue until 4 AM PDT Thursday. These conditions are exacerbated by smoke drifting in from wildfires in Southern California, including the Line, Airport, and Bridge fires. This smoke will lead to reduced visibility and persistent smoky skies, particularly affecting Clark, Mohave, and San Bernardino Counties through Thursday night.

Temperatures are anticipated to drop following the passage of a cold front associated with the weather system. By Friday, winds are expected to ease, and temperatures should return to near-average levels. However, residents should remain cautious of the ongoing smoke and reduced air quality.
