Wild, Reckless California High-Speed Pursuit Reaches 150 MPH, Ends in Long Beach

Two men are in custody following a dangerous high-speed pursuit that hit speeds of up to 150 miles per hour before coming to an end in Long Beach on Wednesday night.

The pursuit began after the suspects reportedly fled the scene of an illegal street takeover in East Los Angeles as police were clearing the area. The exact time the chase started is unclear.

Despite efforts by California Highway Patrol (CHP) cruisers to catch up, the driver sped through traffic, splitting lanes and turning off the vehicle’s headlights to avoid detection by air units.
