Amazon has announced plans to close two facilities in California, impacting approximately 321 employees, according to state filings. According to public notices filed on September 6, the closures will affect a warehouse in Irvine, which will lay off 162 employees, and a facility in West Sacramento, affecting an additional 159 workers. The WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) documents, typically filed in the event of mass layoffs, indicate that the closures will impact various job titles including shippers, packers, and operations directors.

Amazon emphasized that impacted employees will have opportunities to find new positions within the company. The closures are part of Amazon's ongoing efforts to streamline its operations and adapt to shifting business needs.
