LOS ANGELES – On October 8, Bonhams will host the auction Legacy of a Stateswoman: The Personal Collection of Senator Dianne Feinstein, offering a glimpse into the life of the longest-serving female U.S. Senator. Feinstein, who passed away in 2023, was a trailblazer in American politics, representing California in the Senate for over 30 years. The auction will feature items from her homes in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Aspen, including furniture, Asian art, American paintings, and political memorabilia.

Highlights include a 4.14-carat diamond ring estimated at $45,000-65,000, and works of art like Ships Sailing in the San Francisco Bay by William Alexander Coulter, valued at $70,000-100,000. Political keepsakes, such as a letter from Jimmy Carter and inscribed books from Bill Clinton, are also up for sale. Additionally, Feinstein’s extensive jewelry collection and personal art, including her own floral drawings, will be part of two online auctions in October.
